DAVID HILLMAN: News

Europe/West Coast Tours and more... - January 15, 2008

Hey all!

A lot has been happening lately. Olivia, Mark, Ed, and I played a couple of great shows this month, one @ Jules Maes Saloon in Seattle (Thanks Kwab) with Lost Dogma and The Harborrats, and another barn burner at The China Clipper in Olympia with Live People. Thanks to all who came out to those gigs.

Also the Hillman record "Americana Hour" has been included in the latest album showcase by The Levee Breaking which features 5 CDs from Seattle recording artists every 3 months in 5 different local coffee shops. They are also presenting the next show @ The Christoff Gallery on Saturday February 9th.

And last but certainly not least, my European tour in June 2008 with Pete Bush has entered the booking phase and I'll have dates posted soon. I'll also have West Coast tour dates (April/May 2008) posted very soon as well.

Cheers!

More reviews, airplay, whew what a week! - June 25, 2007

Wow what a week! I thought things were going well when XMU played the new record on their Radar Report program, but things kept getting better. HeroHill.com posted a nice review (Thanks Brian!) and so did InsurgentCountry.net out of The Netherlands (Thanks Johanna!). On Saturday, KEXP played one of my tunes on their Audioasis program (Thanks Lisa!). To top it off, I went to see the always wonderful Eleni Mandell at the Tractor! My face hurts from grinning so much and my liver could probably use a break too.

So if you feel like it, call or email KEXP and let them know (check the schedule so you’re not requesting my stuff during say, the reggae or electronica hour) that you’d like to hear a tune off of Americana Hour. If you don’t live near Seattle you can still listen to them on the internet.

Take care kids and thanks for listening!

Recent (European) Developments - June 8, 2007

Americana Hour has been getting a fairly good response since it's release in early May 2007. The folks at MusicEmissions.com gave us a nice review. It has been getting spins on Bellevue's KBCS 91.3 FM, Ellensburg's FM 88.1 KCWU and also airplay on radio stations in Denmark, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Every week I get requests from someone in Europe for a promotional copy of the album. Hmmm maybe a European tour is in order.

Also, the tune Vexations (Track 1) has been penciled in to be included in a movie soundtrack (of course it only has European distribution at this time). More on that one when the situation develops.

So all in all a very good first month. We've been working hard so come out to a show, buy a record, and support your local music scene.

Cheers!

Records 4-Sale - April 30, 2007

I went around today to the record shops in town and "Americana Hour" is now available at all three Sonic Boom Record locations, both Easy Street Records locations, and by the end of the week, all four Silver Platters locations. Go here for more info.

Americana Hour is here! - April 26, 2007

The records (CDs) came on Monday. They look and sound great and I've been furiously sending them out to radio stations and the press.

I've also been booking shows and I'm close on Olympia, Bellingham, and Portland dates. Go to the calendar page to find out more.

Also you can probably tell I finally got around to putting this website together. Soon my professional web designer will be finished with the real site.

Hang on! It's gonna be a fun Summer! See you out there!
